We’ve always had a love of lighthouses. We’ve visited lighthouses in Michigan, Massachusetts, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina over the years taking hundreds of photos. The history surrounding these lighthouses is amazing. The lighthouse pictured here is the St. Simons Island Light Station in Georgia built in 1872.
Our most photographed and favorite lighhouse has to be the Morris Island lighthouse in Folly Beach, South Carolina built in 1876. It took four years to build and was started in 1882 just after the War Between the States! It has stood the test of time, but unfortunately it’s time is running out as the metal is quickly deteriorating.
